MIKS NEW JOB

Mik got a new job as a busser at Sundance. So if you go up there make sure you say HI! He has been LOVING it! They get tipped extremely well up there because people drink and then get very generous with their tipping (the ONE plus side to drinking i guess!). We are so grateful Mik was able to find a second job to help support us!

AMERICA! AMERICA!

We had a great 4th of July! Unfortunately Mik had to work late Friday night and then early Saturday morning so I decided to take the kids to the "Clubhouse" to spend the night and "camp out" with the rest of Provo. We had a blast! Friday night we enjoyed some gelato, watched the people down below and watched Around the World in 80 Days. We hit the sack and woke up to the ice cream man at 7am (who eats ice cream that early!?)
The kids looking at the hot air balloons

We enjoyed the pre parade from the balcony

After getting dressed and brushing our hair we headed to the parade

After the parade we headed to a family party where we ate, swam and surfed!

I didn't get any pictures but later that night we lounged in the backyard enjoying ice cream as we watched the fireworks from the stadium.

THE LAST MONTH OF OUR LIFE!

The last couple of months have been so crazy I feel like we haven't done a whole lot since the birth our new "baby" (yes i refer to the salon as my baby!). But i felt like it was definitely time for an update! This is what my life consists of Monday through Friday 9am-6pm...

No it's not that bad we really are having fun with the salon; I love the girls who work for us, i love the area and i love cutting hair and being surrounded by it 24/7! Though some days it does get quite monotinous ie: when i sit behing the desk hour after hour! We have had some time to go out and play after work, some of the things we have done the past month:
we went mini golfing with the family for FHE

Kyler put Mik in charge of his scooters while he's on the mish so we've been cruising those around and loving it!

And with the recent sun finally coming out we have been doing a little of this (but not enough!)

After many requests I've finally posted some pictures of the salon! They were taken with my iphone so theyre not great but they'll do. Welcome, stay as long as you'd like!

Reception Area. Right now we carry Nuskin, Sebastian, Glymed and Racoon Xtend products but we have some exciting news......we are getting in Bumble and Bumble hair products! I'm SO excited!

Our lovely Esthetic Room

I'm so sad because i wish i would have taken before and after pictures of everything! When i finally thought of it we had everything done except the very back room. Long story short the old owner let the place run into the ground and got locked out so it was basically left as if they were coming back the next day. (It was extremely messy and in need of a face lift!) So here you are,
BEFORE: (yes it really looked like this when we walked in)

AFTER: Lovely lovey! We extended the counter and ripped out all the shelving on the left. much better and more organized!

NEFF GOODIES!

A couple days ago we received this package on our doorstep, I have never seen Mik so excited!

Mik is friends with Shaun Neff who owns the clothing company Neff, we saw him at a Jazz game a couple months ago and he told Mik he would send some goodies out to us. We thought it would be a couple tshirts but it turned out to be a ton of tshirts, hats, beanies, sweatshirts, coats and swimsuits! It was such am awesome suprise!

THANKS SHAUN!

I HOPE THEY CALL ME ON A MISSION!

Last Wednesday we sent Kyler off to serve a mission for the LDS church. Tuesday night he was set apart as an Elder, it was definitely an emotional night! Even Mik cried which definitely says a lot! We are going to miss him like crazy but I know the people in Uruguay need him more then we do right now.

what a handsome missionary!

We stayed up into the late hours of the night "helping" Kyler pack and all giving him our input on what we thought he needed to pack and not pack. Mostly we just wanted to spend all the time we could with him before morning came! Wednesday morning we woke up bright and early and went to breakfast.

We took him straight to the airport so he could fly to the Argentina MTC. It was a sad and exciting day all rolled into one. We are so proud of Kyler for choosing to serve a mission but can't wait for him to come home!
