I've realized being an adult isn't as great as you think it to be when you're growing up. Why didn't I take advantage of being 16!? Over a year ago my dad sent me an email of a speech Bill Gates gave and I've kept it all this time because it's so true! Enjoy!
Love him or hate him , he sure hits the nail on the head with this! Bill Gates recently gave a speech at a High School about 11 things they did not and will not learn in school. He talks about how feel-good, politically correct teachings created a generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this concept set them up for failure in the real world.
Rule 1 : Life is not fair - get used to it!
Rule 2 : The world doesn't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.
Rule 3 : You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.
Rule 4 : If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss
Rule 5 : Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your Grandparents had a different word for burger flipping: they called it opportunity.
Rule 6 : If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault , so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them.
Rule 7 : Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent's generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.
Rule 8 : Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life HAS NOT. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades and they'll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.
Rule 9 : Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF. Do that on your own time.
Rule 10 : Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.
Rule 11 : Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.

What a week!
It's been an interesting week, that's the only way I know how to describe it. It all started a couple months ago when I knew my body wasn't functioning right. After doing some research and hearing rave reviews I went to the Utah Valley Wellness Center to see the lovely Catherine Kipp. 6 vials of blood later I finally got my results from her last week. Let's just say I'm not very happy with my body or Doctors or Birth Control right now.
Now the fun stuff begins! I'm sadly low on Vitamin D (suprise suprise right?), I'm also anemic at the moment and don't even get me started with my hormones (these are just a few of my many problems). So now I take around 25 supplements a day, I've been banned from all foods with high amounts of hormones (red meat, chicken, milk, eggs, etc) and take Progesterone Troches. Um have you ever had a Progesterone Troche? Basically it's a yuck/mint flavored square piece of wax that you have to suck on until its gone. I had my first one last night and couldn't stop gagging sooo I solved the problem by putting a mini cadburry egg next to it.
Anyways the point of my little sob story isn't to get sympathy it's a cry for help. I'm supposed to be eating super healthy (the cadburrys definitely don't count, give a girl a break!), mostly fruits and vegetables, which is hard for this meat-loving girl. If I could eat cereal every meal, every day, all day I totally would (milk substitute ideas are gladly welcome). Any recipes, suggestions, tips, advice, food substitutes, etc etc etc are welcome. No. NEEDED! Also, I highly recommend Catherine Kipp (she's a nurse practitioner), she really takes her time and really cares about you and your health.

Jazz Time
The players thought it was so funny that Karson was "giving them the finger", they kept calling him Finger Man! I think that hand is about the same size as he is.
What, you didn't know Mik got recruited to be on the Jazz?
